Ella’s Story: Growing into a Senior Strategic Role as the Agency Scaled

Headshot of Ella, Senior CRM Manager

When Ella joined Get Better just over two and a half years ago, the agency was still in its early stages of defining its identity. At the time, the team was small and worked across a wide range of creative and marketing activities, from blog writing and social content to email marketing. By the time she officially started, the agency had begun specialising as a Klaviyo-focused CRM agency, and like everyone in the early team, she stepped into a role that required adaptability and ownership from day one.

“The team was very small when I joined and so we all did a bit of everything. I had contact with clients, built their flows, designed their emails.”

This early exposure to multiple parts of the client experience became the foundation for her growth. As the agency expanded, her role evolved into a more clearly defined Email Marketing Manager position, where she began taking greater ownership of client strategy while delegating technical and design work to the growing specialist team.

Today, she holds the role of Senior CRM Manager, reflecting both her individual development and the increasing strategic complexity of the agency’s client work.

One of the most significant areas of her growth has been developing confidence and skill in client relationships, something that was entirely new to her when she joined.

“I’d never been client facing before, but it felt like something which came quite naturally to me. I enjoy building the relationships and seeing not only the progress in the work we do for clients, but the more trust and responsibility that comes with it.”

With that trust came increased responsibility, including managing larger and more strategically complex clients, advising on CRM strategy, and playing a key role in driving retention and performance outcomes for ecommerce brands. Her work now spans strategic advising, hands-on CRM development, and close collaboration with both clients and internal specialists to deliver impactful results.

Throughout her progression, the support and trust within the agency have been central to her development.

“I feel supported and trusted in my role each day. I’ve been given the opportunity to grow and develop my own skills by being trusted with bigger clients and being allowed to make mistakes and learn from them.”

Recognition of her contribution has also reinforced that growth, including being nominated for awards, which reflected the value of her work and impact within the team.

Her day-to-day work reflects the variety and collaboration that defines agency life. Priorities shift depending on client needs and projects, but one constant remains the strength of the team around her.

“A typical day or week consists of us constantly communicating to get the best work done between us.”

That collaboration extends beyond project execution into shared growth and development, something she sees as one of the defining characteristics of the agency.

“We’ve all grown and developed in our roles together, and despite our fast growth as an agency, we still feel like a tight knit group that actually get on with each other.”

Her work spans a wide spectrum of clients, from early-stage ecommerce businesses building their CRM infrastructure from scratch, to established brands with sophisticated internal teams seeking strategic support for specific projects. This range allows her to contribute at multiple levels, from foundational system building to high-level strategic problem-solving.

“I’m proud of a lot of the work I’ve done for different reasons. Building Klaviyo systems from scratch for smaller clients is incredibly rewarding, and working with more established brands on complex projects brings a different kind of challenge.”

As both she and the agency have grown, so too has her role in shaping client success and supporting the team around her. Her progression reflects a broader culture that prioritises both professional development and individual wellbeing.

“The support and growth. If you want to try a certain role or task, or are thinking about where you can go next, you’ll be supported in those decisions.”

From joining a small, fast-evolving team and doing a bit of everything, to now holding a senior strategic role advising major ecommerce brands, her journey reflects the opportunities created by Get Better’s culture of trust, ownership, and continuous development.

“If you’re looking for a kind, supportive agency and want to be part of something that is ever-growing and exciting, Get Better is the place for it.”
