Hannah’s Story: Junior to Senior Designer

When Hannah joined Get Better in March 2025, she was at the very beginning of her marketing career. Having recently completed a Level 3 Diploma in Digital Marketing and gained some early hands-on experience, she joined the agency as a Junior Designer, eager to develop her skills but still exploring where she wanted to specialise.

“I joined with fairly basic marketing experience… and with only a bit of hands-on experience from previous roles.”

From the start, she stepped into an environment that gave her real responsibility and exposure to live client work. Rather than spending months observing from the sidelines, she was trusted to contribute meaningfully almost immediately.

“I felt really supported by the team, and I was surprised, in a good way, to be trusted with client work so early on. Having that level of autonomy straight away made a big difference and helped me build confidence quickly.”

That early trust accelerated her growth. Over the course of less than a year, she developed both her technical skills and creative confidence at a pace she hadn’t expected.

“I joined at a Junior level with limited experience, but I’ve developed quickly and learned a lot along the way. It’s been really rewarding to see how much I’ve grown.”

Her progression has been both creative and strategic. She has developed expertise in graphic design, email flows, segmentation, and understanding how CRM systems work as part of a broader marketing strategy. Alongside this, she discovered a creative direction she genuinely enjoys.

“When I started, I wasn’t completely sure which side of marketing I wanted to focus on, but I’ve been really lucky to find something I genuinely enjoy.”

Today, she works across campaigns, flows, pop-ups, and template design, contributing creative work that directly shapes how ecommerce brands communicate with their customers. One of her favourite parts of the role is working with new clients and establishing their visual identity within email.

“I really enjoy diving into their brand guidelines and exploring their website to create something that feels true to their brand.”

Her role also allows her to combine multiple creative disciplines, blending visual design with copywriting, which is a rare opportunity within the industry.

“I love being able to combine design work and copywriting. Usually in the industry you have to pick one, so it’s great that here I get to do both.”

Beyond technical development, what has stood out most in her experience is the speed at which she has been able to grow, supported by a team environment focused on collaboration and learning.

“The team at Get Better is really collaborative, approachable and friendly. There’s such a wide range of knowledge across the team, which makes it a great place to learn.”

This environment has allowed her to progress from Junior Designer to Designer, and now, less than a year after joining, she has been promoted to Senior Designer, reflecting both her individual development and the agency’s commitment to recognising and nurturing talent.

Her progression has been matched by a genuine sense of fulfilment in her work.

“I can honestly say I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in a job. It’s such a joy to not dread going to work each day, and to be surrounded by such an amazing, supportive team.”

From joining with limited experience to rapidly progressing into a senior creative role, her journey reflects what is possible in an environment where people are trusted early, supported consistently, and given the opportunity to grow quickly.

“You’ll get to work on real projects from the start, develop your skills quickly, and be part of a supportive team where you can genuinely enjoy what you do.”
